This is your opportunity to touch history!

Volunteers are now being solicited to work with CAR staff to rehabilitate collections from Mission San Jose and Mission San Juan. Work with colonial and early historic ceramics as well as other material classes from this National Register and State Archeological Landmark site and learn about the history of the Spanish Colonial and Republic periods in San Antonio.

General Volunteer Opportunities

Contribute to the preservation of history by helping:

rehabilitate the packaging of older collections
organize and stabilize the archival records
production of collections-wide searchable inventory database

Learn:

about the history and prehistory of Texas and North America
proper techniques for documenting archeological collections through inventory and cataloguing
appropriate methods of cleaning and stabilizing artifact collections
techniques used for analyzing different types of artifacts
